The holidays at Sharing Life may look different due to the COVID pandemic, so we’re going to spread holiday cheer in a brand new way!
Instead of hosting our annual in-person Christmas Faire this year, Sharing Life plans to bless 100 families by helping with not only Christmas food and toy needs, but by providing housing and utility assistance, too! The criteria is a little different, but it will allow us to make a significant impact in the lives of those families we help.
100 eligible families will receive and 500 children will receive the following items:
  • Some form of financial assistance – rent, mortgage, electric, gas or water, not to exceed $1,000 per family, with payment to occur the first week of December.
  • A Christmas food box
  • Baking project supplies – cookie sheet, oven mitt, and cookie or brownie mix
  • Wrapping paper
  • Family board game
  • Toys through our partnerships with WFAA Santa’s Helpers, the Marine Corps Toys for Tots, and our generous donors.
*Registration is full. However, in an effort to help as many families as possible, we are coordinating with the Mesquite Police Santa Cop Toy program to provide toys to Mesquite ISD students. If a family does not meet the requirements for assistance with Sharing Life, we will work with Santa Cop to ensure as many Mesquite ISD children are served as possible.
Of course, Sharing Life needs the help of the community and volunteers to make this Christmas special for these families. Each month, we are serving thousands of families experiencing this type of need for the first time. But, with your help, we can make this a Christmas to remember!
Below is a list of items needed for Christmas:
  • Bikes, tricycles, scooters, toddler ride-on toys
  • Board Games - Any game a family can play together will be great!
  • Toys-What is on your child's Christmas wish list? The children we serve would enjoy the same things!
  • Baking-Cookie sheets, wooden spoons, oven mitt, cookie or brownie mixes
